Fire safety training courses
What we do
- Courses for fire wardens (Italian Ministerial Decree of 2 September 2021, Annex III): level 1, 2 and 3 training and five-yearly refresher courses for the company fire-fighting team, with preparation for the technical aptitude exam at the Fire Brigade where the activity requires it
- Fire safety information and training for workers (art. 3 and Annex I of the Decree of 2 September 2021): in-company sessions on the fire risks specific to the activity, the prevention measures in place and the conduct to follow in an emergency
- Courses for fire prevention professionals (Ministerial Decree of 5 August 2011): teaching in the 120-hour basic course and in the refresher courses and seminars (40 hours every five years) required to join and remain on the Ministry of the Interior registers, in cooperation with professional associations
- Courses for qualified maintenance technicians (Ministerial Decree of 1 September 2021, the Italian “Controls Decree”): theoretical and practical training by type of fire safety equipment (extinguishers, hydrant networks, detection and alarm systems, smoke and heat vents, fire doors), leading to the qualification exam at the Fire Brigade
Methodology
Courses are taught by a fire prevention professional registered with the Italian Ministry of the Interior since 2008 (reg. no. PD04062I00770), who combines teaching with day-to-day fire prevention design and inspection of fire safety systems. Programmes follow the minimum contents and durations set by the decrees, including the practical exercises required; the examples and cases discussed in class come from site experience and from the participants' own activities. Sessions can be held on the company's premises or in a classroom; a certificate stating contents and hours is issued at the end, to be kept in the training register and shown to the supervisory authorities.
